Glassware

All of the designs featured in the Glassware gallery are one of a kind and original. No two pieces will ever be exactly alike. The art glass featured in our web site is created using a kiln-formed technique known commonly as glass fusing. Glass is cut by hand, layered in a kiln and fired at high temperatures to melt or “fuse” the glass pieces together. The fused glass is then fired again in hand made clay moulds for a second time to allow the piece to “slump” into the desired shape.

Although each fused glass piece is created to be a work of art on its own, they are also meant to be functional. Go ahead and use your Sisters’ dishes! Dishes are food safe and lead and toxin free. It should be noted that dishes can sometimes be adversely affected by extreme temperature shock; do not place extremely hot food item on a cool dish. Washing by hand is recommended.
